The “Centenary” was issued by Omega in 1948 to commemorate 100 years of the Omega brand. The case is 18k yellow gold, with a solid gold dial and gold applied hour markers and hands. Some of the Centenary’s also came in pink gold cases. It’s a strikingly beautiful dial that looks great under all lighting conditions, except at night of course, with no luminous material on this watch.

The Centenary houses a very special movement. This calibre 30.10 RA JUB is Omega’s first self winding chronometre rated movement. The movement is shock resistant, antimagnetic and beats at 19,800 half oscillations per hour. These special movements with JUB were produced in very limited numbers. I got lucky and found one in superb overall condition. The movement is an exceptional timekeeper, within 5 seconds per 24 hours.
